Beat N Drumz is led by Ahmed "Maico" Jordan, a percussionist raised by two working artists and trained in performing arts schools.
He performs, teaches, and produces, bringing the same drum traditions to a festival stage, a third-grade classroom, and a hip hop session. His curriculum programs, The Drum Speaks and Hip Hop Culture, teach students the history and meaning behind the rhythms they play.
